Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns;
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

FLASHBACK - We're on the blue carpeted bedroom floor and this poem is framed at your desk underneath your loft bed...wow! Reading that took me back in time. That poem survived our many bedroom cleans and purging of old crap (let me just say Michael Jackson posters and china faces) Dust it off - it's a keeper.
I received this last week from a patient at work who just had a lumpectomy and is completing her radiation.
Attitudes
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the miror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
"Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today." So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror, and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today." So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tial." So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speek kindly...Leave the rest to God.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.
